Preheat oven to 375°F.
1. Spray a medium-size baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
2. In a large bowl, combine oatmeal, 1⁄4 tsp cinnamon, salt, dry milk, and apple. Mix well.
3. Add the boiling water and 1⁄4 cup maple syrup. Stir and pour into baking dish.
4. Top with remaining 1⁄4 tsp cinnamon and walnuts.
5. Bake uncovered for 40 minutes. Top with remaining 1⁄4 cup maple syrup.
