  1. In a large bowl combine the beef, onion, bread crumbs, egg white, and salt. Mix well and form into 4 patties. Set aside.
  2. Spray a large skillet with nonstick cooking spray. Place the skillet over medium-high heat and add beef patties. Cook 4 to 5 minutes on each side or until cooked through. Remove from the skillet, set aside, and keep warm.
  3. Add canola oil to the skillet. When hot, add mushrooms. Sauté for 3 to 5 minutes or until tender.
  4. Combine in a small bowl the beef broth, cornstarch, and Worcestershire. Add to the skillet. Stir and cook 1 to 2 minutes or until thickened.
  5. Pour mushroom sauce over beef patties and serve with hot pasta.
  6. Makes 4 servings.
